Helen H. Pruitt

SHELBY- Mrs. Helen Pruitt, 92, of 1404 N. Lafayette Street, died Monday, March 14, at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Smith Pruitt. Helen was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. She worked with United Way and was one of the original 7 foster grandparents in Cleveland County, and was awarded Foster Grandparents of the year.

PRECEDED:In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Bobby Pruitt and 8 brothers and sisters.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her 3 sons, Charles Pruitt and wife Elizabeth of Polkville, Dicky Pruitt and wife Faye of Earl and David Pruitt and wife Gay of Shelby; daughter Ann Clary of Shelby; two sisters, Arizona Hamby of Belwood and Lily Bridges of Salisbury; brother Fred Pruitt and wife of Lake Elisonoe, CA; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of Cleveland pines for their love and care.

SERVICES: Services will be held, 3pm, Thursday, March 17, at Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the church

MEMORIALS: Neal Senior Center, 100 TR Harris Dr., Shelby, 28150

CLERGY: Revs. Priscilla Walker and Russ Bradley will be officiating.

BURIAL: Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.
