SHELBY- Mrs. Helen Hayes Kale, 88, of 306 Royster Ave., died Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland Co., she was the daughter of the late Oso C. and Lillian Cooper Hayes.
PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Harvey Glenn Kale; a daughter in law Rachael Kale; two brothers Bill and Bud Hayes; and a sister Mabel Carter.
SURVIVED: She is survived by two sons,Glenn Kale Jr. and wife Mary of Shelby and Homer Kale of Kings Mountain; four grandchildren Ann and Scott Stroupe, Lisa and Tim Vickers, Michael and Bobbie Kale, and Tracy and Penny Kale; eight great grandchildren Chris Kale and wife Melanie; Ashley Hubbard, Amber Hubbard; Matthew Kale, Heather Burnett and husband Brandon, Summer Kale, Jordan Kale, and Brittney Smith and husband Jamie; great great granddaughter Kaylyn Burnett; and three sisters Bertha Pruitt, Betty Baucham, and Rita Conte.
SERVICES: Services will be held, 2pm, Friday, August 6, 2010 at Second Baptist Church., the body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends, 6-7:30, Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home of his son Glenn, 519 Forest Ridge Dr., Shelby.
BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Sunset Cemetery.
CLERGY: Dr. Reginald Dawkins will be officiating.
FUNERAL HOME: Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby.
