SHELBY – Mr. Herman W. Dawson, 85, of 304 Martin St., died Sat., April 27, 2013 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late A.K. and Lula McSwain Dawson. He worked for J & K Music Shop for 25 years and retired from Security Forces. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Dawson; daughter, Audrey Lynn Dawson; sister, Kathleen Lewis and her husband J.B; great-grandson, Killian Harris.
SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Iva Jean Dawson of the home; two daughters, Jackie Harris and husband George and Cindy Philbeck, all of Shelby; grandchildren, Candace Humphries and husband Mark of Shelby, Nicole Humphries and husband Chad of Boiling Springs, and Jason Harris and wife Jennifer of Alabama; great grandchildren, Tyler Pruitt, Madison and Coby Humphries, Keara, Kai, and Padraig Harris; special friend, Chuck Lutz of Shelby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Tuesday, 3PM, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel
VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
