Herman Hamrick

August 31, 1920 — July 12, 2006

SHELBY- Mr. Herman Hamrick, 85, of 1438 Mt. Sinai Church Road died Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at Brian Center in Gastonia.

FUNERAL: Friday (July 14) at 4:00pm at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. The casket will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.

BURIAL: will follow in the church cemetery.

VISITATION: Thursday (July 13) from 6 to 8:00pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home.

PERSONAL HISTORY: A native of Cleveland County, he was a son to the late Garlie and Earlie Clary Hamrick and was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army Air Corps. He was an active member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, serving as a Past Deacon and Sunday School teacher and was retired from Ora Mill.

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Allen Hamrick; a daughter, Wanda Karen Hamrick; a granddaughter, Karen Lynn Hamrick; and two brothers and two sisters.

SURVIVORS: Four sons, Dennis Hamrick and wife Pat, Michael Hamrick and wife Vanda, Raymond Hamrick and wife Mary Frances, and Scott Hamrick and wife Sheila, all of Shelby;
one daughter, Sandra Johnson and husband James of Bolivia, NC;
two brothers, Jesse Hamrick of Calabash, NC and Marvin Hamrick of Grover;
five sisters, Ella Mae Duncan of Blacksburg, SC, Winnie Hudson and husband Tommy of Kings Mtn., Mary Etta Short of Cherryville, Dorothy Murray and husband Horace of Shelby, and Faye Benoy of Calabash; and two sisters-in-law, Gladys Edmonson of Boiling Springs; and Mary Sue Hollifield of Shelby;
eleven grandchildren and their spouses, Joey and Janet Hamrick, Kevin and Brandy Hamrick, Jarrod and Tabitha Hamrick, Amy and Steven Smith, Justen Hamrick, Christa Johnson, Pam Clark, Ansley Hamrick, Andrew Hamrick, Polly Etters, and Lee Etters;
six great-grandchildren, Brianna Clark, Carlie Hamrick, Kelsey Hamrick, Andy Danielle Hamrick, Annabelle Hamrick, and Mychal Salone Ferguson.
