Herman Weaver

June 12, 1923 — February 15, 2011

SHELBY- Mr. Herman Weaver, 87, of 217 Mt. Sinai Church Road, died February 15, 2011 at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Dewey Moore Weaver. Herman served in the Army during World War II and was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and Piedmont Shine Club. He was also member of State Line Masonic Lodge # 375, where he received his 50 year pin. Herman enjoyed fishing and gardening and was a life long mechanic. He owned Weaver’s Garage.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Kathleen Edmondson; sister Lucy Hamrick; and brother Archie Weaver.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Ruby Morrison Weaver, of the home; sons Clyde David Weaver and Horace Weaver and wife Judy, all of Shelby; three daughters Hazel W. Thrift-Morrow and husband David, Mary Coker and husband Barry, all of Shelby, and Frances W. Edmondson and husband Bruce of Grover; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 19 great great grandchildren; two nieces Geneva Arnold and Nell Green; and nephew Ben Weaver, all of Blacksburg.

SERVICES: Friday, 2pm, at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, the body will lie in state 30 min. prior.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends, Thursday, 6-7:30, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and other times at the home.

BURIAL: Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery with Masonic rights.
