BOILING SPRINGS- Mr. Horace “Spider” Calvin Willis, 73, of 2012 Holly Hill Rd, died Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Peak Recourses. A native of Cleveland county, he was the son of the late Esper Plato Lee and Edna Dolly Poole Willis. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Sunday school classes at Boiling Springs Baptist. Spider was a special deputy sheriff that trained blood hounds, and enjoyed fishing more than anything else.
PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 3 sisters, Aileen Poole, Edna Dean Willis, and Betty Hawes; and 3 brothers Esper, Ralph, and Blake Willis.
SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife Gladys Jeanette Wacaster Willis; son, Bobby Willis and wife Harriet; daughter Lisa Lowery and husband Allen, all of Boiling Springs; one brother Bill Willis and wife Pauline of Fallston; four grandchildren, Ashley Amanda Willis, Emily Laura Willis, William Paul Darnell, and Celeste Leighann Lowery; and one great granddaughter, Zoe Anita Radford. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Peak Recourses for their care to Spider.
SERVICES: Services will be held, Tuesday, August 10, 2010, 3pm at Flint Hill Baptist Church.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends, Tuesday, August 10, 2010, 1:30-3pm at Flint Hill Baptist Church
CLERGY: Rev. Keith Dixon will be officiating.
BURIAL: Cleveland Memorial Park.
