Iris Francis

SHELBY: Iris Falls Francis, 90, died Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Mildred Falls. She worked for Grover Medical Clinic for many years. She was a devoted wife and loving mother of three children, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Iris will be remembered as a servanthood to all and never complained as she always saw the good in everyone and all circumstances. She loved traveling and knitting Christmas stockings for all, and she passed down to all her family how to make her famous cheese rolls. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Ray” Francis; son, Steven Ray Francis; and brother, William Russell Falls; brother-in-law, Greg Moore; and great-grandson, Kameron Paul Arter. She is survived by her son, Paul Francis and wife Johanna of Shelby; daughter, Helen Francis Moore of Monroe; sisters, Gail Rogers and Jane Mauney; grandchildren, Misti Arter and husband Nathan, Stephanie Barnholt and husband Scott, Brad Francis and wife Courtney, Brian Morris and girlfriend Tanna, Daniel Morris and wife Taylor, Madeline Storm and husband Todd; great-grandchildren, Kaleb Arter, Kaley Arter, Nova Rae Francis, Ada Barnholt, Saylor Storm, Summer Storm and Brighton Morris. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Eddie Price officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
