Jack Patterson

SHELBY: Jack V. Patterson, 87, formerly of 404 S. Washington St., died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2017, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late L.M. and Docia Smith Patterson. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, usher, RA leader, and Sunday school teacher. He worked many years as an electrical contractor, and enjoyed buying old houses and fixing them up. He was an avid fast pitch softball player, who was inducted into the Cleveland County Hall of Fame in 2011.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and 1 sister.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jeanette Duncan Patterson, of the home; daughter, Cheri Evans and husband Rick of Shelby; son, Michael Patterson and wife Katheryn of Atlanta; grandchildren, Michael Evans of Shelby, and Felix Patterson of Atlanta.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 2pm, Friday, at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Tim Sims officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the church.

BURIAL: Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery
