James Ray Ellis

October 21, 1939 — September 28, 2014

SHELBY- James Ray Ellis, 74, died Sun., Sept. 28, 2014, at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late James Charles “C.J.” and Edna Ellis. He was the former owner of TJ’s Pawn Shop.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his second wife, Lanna Ellis.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his four sons, Jeff Ellis and wife Melanie, and Chris Ellis, all of Shelby, Christian and Caleb Ellis of Gaffney, stepson, Tim Scism and wife Jennifer; sisters, Laura Lee Champion of Shelby, Ruth Wade of Cliffside, Marie Heath of Harmony; brothers, Roger Dean Ellis and wife Claudia, Ricky Ellis and wife Ginger, all of Shelby; five grandchildren, two step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

MEMORIAL SERVICES: Tuesday, 2pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

VISITATION: The family will receive friends following the service, at the funeral home.
