SHELBY-James Michael “Jimmy” Hamrick, 76, passed away Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016, at his residence.
A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Chalmer Jim and Willie Bill Self Hamrick. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Shelby where he was ordained as a Deacon in May of this year. Everyone loved Jimmy and he loved everyone. He played the guitar for the choir at church. He always had a smile on his face and never had a bad word to say about anyone. He cherished his sons more than anything and talked about going to be with their mom often.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Hamrick.
He is survived by four sons, Chris Scott Hamrick, Richard Mark Hamrick and wife Laura, James Dean Hamrick and wife Sheila all of Shelby, Tony Eric Hamrick and wife Angel of Belwood; one sister, Sheila Burns and husband Claude of Union, S.C.; one brother, Bruce Hamrick of Shelby; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Tommy Price.
Interment will be at Cleveland Memorial Park.
