James Lookabill

CHERRYVILLE: James Lee Lookabill, 66, died Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at his home. Born in Watauga County, he is the son of Billie June Lawrence Lookabill of Shelby and the late John Lookabill. James was loved by many, working for Duke Energy for over 35 years. He enjoyed NASCAR and the outdoors. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Janet Martin of the home; sons, Jamey Cabaniss and wife Penny of Grover and James Marshbanks of Denver, NC; brother, Johnny Lookabill and wife Mayla of Lattimore; sisters, Mary Lemons of Shelby, Connie Hicks and husband Jerry of Rutherfordton, and Shelia Cooper of Shelby; grandson, Hunter Lee Cabaniss; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2pm, Friday, June 25, 2021 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Barry Miles officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
