James Panther

SHELBY: James “Buster” Panther, 89, died Monday, September 6, 2021 at White Oak Manor in Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Christmas and Lola Lawson Panther. Buster served as a Sergeant in the US Army, was a member of New Buffalo Baptist Church and retired as a plumber. He is survived by his daughter, Mona Spivey and husband Jeff of Lawndale; sons, James Lynn Panther of Shelby and Dr. Randy Panther and wife Chelsea of San Antonio; sister, Joan Young of Charlotte; grandchildren, Jennifer Hyde, Elizabeth Panther, Abigail Panther, Madeline Panther and Josh and Zach Trivett; great grandchildren, Ally and McKenzie; and special friends, Steve and Eva Mullinax and KC Terry. A memorial service will be held 2pm, Saturday, September 11, 2021 at New Buffalo Baptist Church, with the Rev. Adam Green officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, in the church. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery
