James Philbeck

SHELBY: James E. Philbeck, 83, died Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Clarence and Veda Blanton Philbeck. James was a 57 year member of the Local Plumbing/Pipe Fitting Industry. He enjoyed photography, and loved animals, wildlife and nature. He was an avid Braves fan and he traveled the country, working and enjoying learning the different cultures. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Philbeck; and sisters, Maude Poston and Margaret Speagle. He is survived by his son, Chris Philbeck and wife Gaby of Shelby; grandson, C.J. Philbeck of Shelby; and dear famiy friend, Martha Queen of Bostic. A private family graveside will be held in Cleveland Memorial Park.
Funeral services are entrusted to Clay-Barnette Funeral Home & Aquamation Center.
