GASTONIA- Mr. James “Bud” Boyd Clary, 82, of 101 Mountain Village Circle, died Sunday, July 5, 2009 at White Oak Manor of Kings Mountain. A native of Gaston County, he was the son of the late John and Tiny Hays Clary. He retired from Homelite and was a member of South Gastonia Church of God. He also served in the Coast Guard.
PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Elizabeth Vickers.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Ruth Barrett Clary of the home; a daughter Marie Ballard of Kings Mountain; two sons Donald Clary and wife Lois of Gastonia and Mark Clary and wife Kathy of Bessemer City; a step-son Ricky Lingerfelt of Clearwater, FL; two step-daughters Debbie Gosnell of Belmont and Stella Putnam and husband Richard of Gastonia; one sister Edith Reagan of FL; one brother Marshall Clary and wife Barbara of High Shoals; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and eleven step-great grandchildren.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends, Thursday, July 9, 2009 from 12:30-2 pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
SERVICE: Services will be held, Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 2 pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
INTERMENT:. Burial will immediately follow in Flint Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
