James "Piggy" Ward

December 2, 1916 — March 7, 2011

SHELBY- Mr. James “Piggy” Ward, 94, of 1019 W. Elm Street, died Monday, March 07, 2011 at Hospice House of Rutherford County. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Melger and Cora Causby Ward. Piggy was a member of Westview Baptist Church and retired from J.P. Stevens.


PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Davis Ward; son Michael Ward; and several brothers and sisters.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his sister Hazel Harris and husband Freddie of Columbus; brother and caregiver, Hicks Ward and wife Dot of Forest City; special caregivers and friends, Wayne and Judy of Shelby; and the many other caregivers that extended there love and support over the years to Piggy.


SERVICES: March 9, 2011, 2pm, at Westview Baptist Church.


VISITATION: One hour before the service.

CLERGY: Revs. Rick Bowling, Jim Brackett, Myles Whitaker, and Wayne Hall

BURIAL: Cleveland Memorial Park
