SHELBY: Martha “Jane” Griffin White, 75, died Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center. She was the daughter of the late Ed and Margie Matthew Griffin. Martha enjoyed the little things in life such as baking and sewing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl White; daughters, Samantha White and Shirley Powell; son, Chris White; sisters, Mary Brown, Brenda Wilson, and Betty Jo Griffin; and brothers, Marshall, John and Leroy Griffin. She is survived by her son, Rev. Donald White and wife Sherry of Earl; sisters, Linda Price and husband Sam of Shelby and Wanda Smith; brother, Rev. Buster Griffin and wife Ann of Shelby; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:00PM to 7:00PM on Tuesday, November 28 2023 at Clay-Barnette. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, November 29 2023 at In His Hands Independent Baptist Church. Burial to follow at Charity Baptist Church Cemetery.
