Jane Gilreath Wilson

April 11, 1928 — February 21, 2013

BLACKSBURG, SC- Mrs. Jane Gilreath Wilson, 84 of 201 Huffman Hill Road, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013 peacefully at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, she was born April 11, 1928, daughter of the late John Lawson and Ida Black McSwain. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Kings Mountain where she was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class and a former member of the Adult Choir. She loved her family, the mountains, keeping house, eating out and reading. She was a graduate of Lattimore High School and was retired from Wix Corporation in Gastonia where she worked in the Personnel Office.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Russell Gilreath; two brothers, B.E. McSwain, John D. McSwain and wife Rosemary; two sisters, Vivian Davidson and husband James, Dezzie Warren and husband J.B.; one brother-in-law, Rubin Whitfield; one sister-in-law, Gertrude McSwain.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her husband James Cooke Wilson of the home; two sons, Rusty Gilreath of Indian Trail, NC, David Gilreath and wife Cheryl of Mocksville, NC; one daughter, Lisa Burney and husband Robert of Apex, NC; one step-daughter, Elizabeth Stone and husband Scott of Shelby; one sister, Clarene Whitfield of Garner, NC; one brother, Arnold McSwain of Shelby; four grandchildren, Sarah Burney of Raleigh, NC, Will Gilreath of Indian Trail, NC, Catherine Gilreath of Summerville, SC, and Tyler Gilreath of Raleigh, NC; two step grandchildren, Ethan and Jacob Stone of Shelby.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held Monday, 2:00 pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church of Kings Mountain.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Sunday, 3:00 – 5:00 pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby and other times at her home.

CLERGY: Revs. Steve Taylor and David Blanton.

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Sunset cemetery.

MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church Building Fund, 1015 Bethlehem Road, Kings Mountain, NC 28086.
