Janet Stanley

SHELBY- Mrs. Janet Edmonson Stanley, 74, of 1008 Caldwell Circle, died Friday, September 14, 2007 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Cleveland County, daughter to the late William Henry and Carrie Pheagin Edmonson. She was devoted to her family and her church. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church of Grover where she sang in the choir for many years. She loved watching the Gaither Homecoming shows and was noted for her crocheting which she was always giving as gifts to her family and her many friends.

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack H. Stanley, and a brother, Jerry H. Edmonson.

SURVIVORS: Two sons, Bobby Mode and his wife Marissa of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Tim Mode of Dallas, NC; one daughter, Debra Mode of the home; one brother, Gene Edmonson of Grover; and a sister-in-law, Donna Edmonson of Kings Mountain; five grandchildren, Chris Mode and his wife Laura , Jesi Lovell and her husband Todd, Jason and David Lewkowicz, and Ciera Mode; and her great-grandson and “pride and joy”, Aaron Cash Lovell. She also leaves behind her special friends from her childhood and her church, including Madge Hawkins and Sam and Vernice Dudley.

VISITATION: Tonight (9/15) from 6-7:30pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home.

FUNERAL: 2:00pm, Sunday (9/16) at Bethany Baptist Church in Grover.

LIE-IN-STATE: 30 mins. prior to the service.

Entombment will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
