Jean Black

June 19, 1928 — May 7, 2015

SHELBY- Jean Black, 86, of Polkville Road, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Cleveland Pines. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Rome and Alphie Swink Terry. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved going and having yard sales, loved working in her yard with her flowers and doing yard work.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Calvin Terry; one daughter, Kay Hamrick; one son, Freddie Faye Jones.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her husband, Sam Black of the home; two sons, Larry Jones and wife Susan of Shelby; John Jones of Lawndale; two daughters, Linda Goodson of Newton, and Joann Lankford and husband Johnny of Shelby;17 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday in the Chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

BURIAL: Burial will be at Cleveland Memorial Park
