SHELBY- Mrs. Virginia “Jenny” Stroupe Kiser, 90, of 1406 Wesson Rd., died Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Gaston County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas S. and Bertie McAllister Stroupe. She had lived in Shelby for the past 70 years, and was a member of Westview Baptist Church.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Z.J. Kiser; four brothers, Ralph, Coy, Roy and Jack Stroupe, and a sister, Margie Mauney.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by three daughters, Amelia Poston and husband, Mack, of Shelby, Lavon McSwain and husband, Ben, of N. Myrtle Beach, SC and Charlene Bridges and husband, Donald, of N. Augusta, SC; a sister, Mildred Hipp of Charlotte; eight grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Westview Baptist Church and at other times at the home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Westview Baptist Church.
BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Sunset Cemetery.
