MOORESBORO- Mr. Jerry “JC” Clifton Putnam, 65, of 1720 Greenlee Road, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Shaftor and Nora Ellis Putnam. Mr. Putnam worked for Hoechst Celanese for 31 years and was a volunteer fire fighter for number three for 15 years. He was also a member of Camps Creek Baptist Church.
SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Myrtie Putnam, of the home; a son Arvin Putnam; daughter Holly Putnam, all of Mooresboro; one brother Jim Putnam and wife Pat of Shelby; three grandchildren, Morgan Bailey, Bobbye Payne Bailey, and Jacob Putnam, all of Mooresboro; nephew Brian Putnam; niece Penny Putnam; Penny’s daughter, Elaina Putnam; and special friends Momma Jean and Teresa Baker.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends, Friday, May 7, 2010, from 2-3pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
SERVICES: A Memorial service will be held, Friday, May 7, 2010, 3pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made to Number Three Volunteer Fire Department, 2327 Blacksburg Road, Grover 28073.
CLERGY: The Rev. Allen Hall will be officiating.
