SHELBY- Mr. Jesse Jenkins Fitch, 76 of 404 Fields Drive, died Monday, May 12, 2008 at Crawley Memorial Hospital. A native of Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Robert Lee Fitch Sr. and Minnie Lola Warren. He was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church and was a retired wholesaler for Patterson’s Flowers.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers; Robert “Lee” Fitch Jr., Bobby Gene Fitch, Butler Fitch, and a sister Edna Wall.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by his former wife Sue Brooks Fitch of Shelby, two sons, Mike Fitch and wife Barbara, and Ricky Scott Fitch all of Shelby; two daughters, Susan Hayes and her special friend Dwight Angley, Ann Lowery and husband Tim all of Shelby; three brothers, J. Harold Fitch and wife Dot of Waco, David Fitch and wife Brenda of La Grange, Georgia, and Eugene Fitch and wife Sissy of Shelby; two sisters, Shirley Greene and husband Bobby of Lattimore and Dot Brady and husband Robert of Lawndale; nine grandchildren; 12 Great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine companion, “Princess”.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Elizabeth Baptist Church and at other times at the home of Sue Fitch, 2525-1 Oak Grove Rd., Shelby.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be at Noon, Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Elizabeth Baptist Church.
BURIAL: Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
OFFICIATING CLERGY: Randy Henderson and the Rev. Rit Varriale.
MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made to the Cleveland County Humane Society, P.O. Box 2432, Shelby, NC 28151-2432
