ELLENBORO- Mr. Jimmy Leroy Lail, 71, of 283 Harmon Rd., died Friday at his home. A native of Cleveland Co., he was the son of the late Paul and Elizabeth Green Lail. He served in the Army, retired from textiles and was a member of Shelby New Bethel Church. He loved building and playing banjo’s. He was known as a master woodworker, and use to play with the Shelby Ramblers many years ago.
PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Lail.
SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Faye Philbeck Lail of the home; two sons, Michael Lail and wife Amanda of Shelby, Paul Powell and wife Jennifer of Forest City; daughter Sherry Lail and husband Mark of Shelby; two brothers, Kenneth Lail of Shelby, Jerry Lail of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Nikki, Michael, Hayden, and Hope Lail survive.
SERVICES: 3pm, Monday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Sunday, 2-4pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and other times at the home.
