SHELBY- Mr. Jimmy Douglas Thomas, 64, of 616 Hillcrest Drive, died Monday, October 9, 2006 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Herman Lee and Willie Mae Irvin Thomas. He was employed in the construction industry.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife, Pat Thomas of the home; a son, Chris Thomas and wife, Jessica, of Shelby; two daughters, Carol Powell and husband, Billy of Mooresboro and Joyce Robbins and husband, Ritchie of Bostic; a sister, Cheryl Gallman and husband, Steven, of Patterson Springs; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 11, 2006 from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
BURIAL: Private burial will be held at Sunset Cemetery
