Joe Dean Estep

SHELBY: Joe Dean Estep, 89, died Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Robert and Dellia Hensley Estep. Joe was an active member at Zoar Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon, RA leader where he enjoyed the pinewood derby, and was a member of the Men’s Friendly Sunday school class. He retired from Petroleum World. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Edna Eaker, Faye Dobbins and Virginia Ann Pintuff. He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 56 years, Jeanette Camp Estep; daughter, Elaine Estep and his “adopted daughter” Kim Pearson, all of Shelby; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 3pm, Friday, August 27, 2021 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Danny West and Rev. David Costner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County or Zoar Baptist Church
