Joe Patterson

SHELBY: Joseph “Joe” G. Patterson, 81, died Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Atrium Health Cleveland. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late George and Myrtle Whitesides Patterson. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and playing cards and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Scott Patterson; and sister, Mildred Pennington. He is survived by his son, Joey Patterson and wife Laura; daughter, Susan Patterson, both of Shelby; sisters, Beth Dalton of Belmont, Celia Pribble and Daryl of Cherryville and Sadie Lowery and husband Steven of Grover; grandchildren, Sean Power, Brittany Padgett, Evan Dixon, Landon Hall, Scottie Patterson, Jon Michael Hall, Ethan Dixon, Matthew Hall, Sydney Patterson and Eli Patterson; seven great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Kim Patterson of Shelby; brother-in-law, Harold Pennington of Blacksburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 10am, Wednesday, August 11, 2021 in Sulphur Springs UMC Cemetery, with Pastor Jimmy McKee officiating.
