JOEL TEASLEY
SHELBY-Joel Teasley, 60, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017, at Hospice of Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, he was born to the late Joe and Eunice Beason Teasley. He was Cleveland County’s first baby of 1957. He proudly served in the US Navy on the USS Saratoga. He was a true renaissance man who could fix anything. He was a gourmet cook who loved nature and all living things. He was a true romantic, kind, generous and considerate to everyone.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Teasley Moore and niece, Elizabeth Lee Teasley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Cathy Loveless Teasley of the home; sister, Donna Connor and husband Steve of Shelby; brothers, Kenneth Teasley and wife Jane of Spindale and Allen Teasley and wife Elizabeth of Belle Haven, Virginia; nephews, Matthew and Joseph Teasley; and niece, Mary Katherine Moore.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, in the chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, officiated by Dr. B. Ervin Price.
A private family burial will be at Cleveland Memorial Park.
