John Clary

October 28, 1933 — April 9, 2012

SHELBY- Mr. John Edward Clary, 78, passed away Monday, April, 9 2012 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County he was the son of the late Steven Bryant and Arlee Anthony Clary. He worked in textiles and was a fixer at Ora Mills.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Connie Denise Clary; six brothers, C.B., Ralph, Garland, Howard, Richard, and Paul Clary; one sister, Ruth Rhinehardt; one grandson, T.J. Hamrick; and a great granddaughter, Bobbie Lynn Hamrick.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Gail Mauney Clary of the home; one son, Scott Black and wife Lynn of Kings Mountain; one daughter, Kathy C. Pruett of Newton, NC; one brother, Steve Clary and wife Mary of Naples, FL; two grandchildren, Charles Alexander of Vale, NC and Elizabeth Black of Gastonia; three great grandsons; and many nieces and nephews; he is also survived by his step-mother, Ann Pruett Clary of Earl; two half sisters, Debbie Clary of Cherryville; Christie Hurdt of Earl; one half brother, David Clary also of Earl.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends 12:30 – 2:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral Home.

CLERGY: Dr. Robert Rose

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Cleveland Memorial Park
