John Flory

SHELBY-John David Flory, 86, died Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Atrium Health Cleveland. Born in Tarrant County, TX he was the son of the late Washburn and Hattie Mae Frazier Flory. John was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved to work in his yard, collect toys and cast iron items. John also enjoyed peanuts and pecans and was a mason for over 50 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, of 63 years Wilda Flory; brothers, Ray and Earl; sisters, Alta, DeAlva, and Virginia; and son in law, Rick Lemmons. He is survived by his daughters, Cherryl Barnett of Kings Mountain, Christy Allen and husband Ted and Jennifer Ferrara and husband Jeff all of Shelby; sister, Martha Richards of Odessa, TX; sisters in law, Lena Flory of Crowley, TX and Fern Flory of Temple, TX; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; and special K-9 companion Betsy. Funeral services will be held 1pm, Monday, March 1, 2021 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, with Pastor Terry Graves officiating. The family will receive friend from 4pm-6pm, Sunday, February 28.2021 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
Burial will follow the service in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
