John Shepperson, Sr.

SHELBY-John Morton Shepperson Sr., 82, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, at Hospice at Wendover. He was native of Hempstead County, Ark., retired from the Navy, and was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Ed Shepperson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Faye Hart Shepperson; daughter, Beth Shepperson, both of the home; sons, John Shepperson Jr., and wife Kirstin of Greensboro, and David Shepperson and wife Eileen of Reidsville; sister, Liz Welbourn of Tenn.; grandchildren, J.T., Jacob, Kelly, Anna, and Nicole Shepperson.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 p.m., Tuesday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at Bethel Baptist Church, officiated by Dr. Tim Sims.

Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park with military honors.
