SHELBY- Johnny “Pop” Max Hamrick, 81, died Friday, Apr. 29, 2016, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late David and Eliza Craswell Hamrick. He served in the National Guard, and worked for Merita Bread, as a salesman, for 32 years.
PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Janie Irette Childers Hamrick; brothers, Archie, Jim, Dewey, Ben, JT, and Harold Hamrick; sisters, Vassie Hoppes, Eva Lou Champion, Ruth Barnette, and Lib Morehead; and grandson, Eric Hamrick.
SURVIVED: He is survived by his daughters, Connie McCombs and husband Jerry of Shelby, Bonnie Davis and husband Hayward of Waco, Donna Hart and husband Joe of Mayo, Fl.; son, Ronnie Hamrick of Shelby; sisters, Martha Greene of Boiling Springs, and Catherine Oliver of Polkville; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; best friends, Don Barkley, Mary Jimison, Ralph Lail, and Renee Powell; special pets, Noodles, Rex, and Thomas; and his special friends from Amvets Post #42.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 2pm, Monday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Monday, 12:30-2pm, at the funeral home
BURIAL: Will follow in Sunset Cemetery
CLERGY: Dr. Stephen Taylor will officiate
