Joy Shuman

April 17, 1951 — February 11, 2011

SHELBY- Mrs. Joy Ann Jolley Shuman, 59, of West Warren Street, died February 11, 2011 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of Rev. Allen Jolley of Mooresboro and the late Betty Simmons Jolley. Joy was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church where she was a sexton. She had a special love for her cats.


SURVIVED: In addition to her father, she is survived by her devoted and beloved daughter Melissa Shuman Medlin and husband Chris; sister Gay Jolley, all of Shelby; two step grandchildren, Cody and Kaylee Medlin; aunt Anne Simmons, of Asheville; and by cousins whom she dearly loved, as well as by many friends.

SERVICES: Monday, February 14, 11am, Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends for one hour after the service in the Narthex.

CLERGY: Revs. C. Wayne Allen & Katie Roberts

BURIAL: 1:30pm at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
