Joyce Bell

GASTONIA: Joyce Shaw Bell, 92, died Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Navion Assisted Living in Shelby. Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late William Taft Bell and Ruth Young. She was a member of Robinson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Gastonia and worked in real estate and mortgage lending in Shelby for many years. She was a loving mother to her daughters and an avid shopper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, William Shaw and Jimmy Eugene Bell. She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Shaw Hames and husband Thomas of Boiling Springs, NC and Mary Shaw Plybon and husband Shaun of Advance; grandchildren, Victoria Farlow and husband Ryan and Joseph Plybon; and great grandchildren, Ezra Michael Farlow and Melek Victor Farlow. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Pea officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
