SHELBY- Mrs. Joyce Lail Wellmon, 64, of 1315 Barbee Rd., died Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Alvin and Ava Pearl Bridges Lail. She was a retired inspector in the textile industry and was a member of Community Baptist Church.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Holland.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Samuel “Hal” Wellmon of the home; three sons, Steven Hal Wellmon and wife, Norma, of Vale, David Wayne Wellmon and wife, Ginger, of Forest City, and Joey Dean Wellmon of Shelby; a daughter, Julie McNeily and husband, Wade, of Ellenboro; a brother, David Lail; a sister, Janie Dover and husband, James, of Grover; ten grandchildren, Michaela Wellmon, Breeann Killian, Gordon Killian and wife, Tara, Seth Wellmon, Tyler Wellmon, Morgan Wellmon, Michael Wellmon, Katlin Wellmon, Whitney Wellmon and Jeri Ann McNeily; a great granddaughter, Savannah Killian; brother-in-law, Dan Holland of Shelby; and a number of nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Friday, July 11, 2008 from 6:00 until 7:30 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Burial will follow in Community Baptist Church Cemetery.
