SHELBY- Mrs. Juanita Madeline Spinks, 83, of 1220 Starlight Drive, died Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at home. A native of Pocahontas County, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Leona Sizemore Coxey. She was a retired teacher from the Tall Pines Academy in Crestview, Florida. She was a member of Westwood Heights Baptist Church and a former member of Dorcas Baptist Church in Crestview, Florida. Juanita loved flowers and tending to her garden. She was also an avid reader.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn R. Spinks, and a daughter, Wanda Cheryl Spinks.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by a son, Randall C. Spinks and wife, Cheryl of the home; two sisters, Nannie Cutlip of Princeton, WV and Winona Cantrell and husband, Bill of Adairsville, GA; a brother, Ray Coxey and wife, Rosemary of Ft. Collins, CO; two grandchildren, Lisa Gold and husband, Sammy of Shelby and Danny Spinks of Pace, Florida; four great grandchildren, Jill Wheat, Courtney Daves, Jordon Daves, and Cassie Gold; five great-great grandchildren, and a number of loving nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:30 pm, Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and also from 10:00 until 11:00 am on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Dorcas Baptist Church in Crestview, Florida.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Dorcas Baptist Church.
BURIAL: Burial will follow in the Dorcas Cemetery.
