Juanita Wood

SHELBY- Mrs. Juanita Chavis Wood, age 82, formerly of McColl, SC, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at the White Oaks Manor in Kings Mountain, NC .

Born in Richmond County, NC, on July 7, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Murray Chavis. She was the youngest of seven children. She was married to the late Rev. C. D. Spake, Sr. who was a Church of God pastor. Later in life, she was married to the late Stanley C. Wood of Dayton, WA. Most recently, she was a resident of White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain, NC.

She is survived by one son, Dan Spake and wife, Paula of Cherryville, NC, and her sister Myrtle Linton of McColl, SC. She was blessed with numerous grand-children and great-grand-children.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the McColl Church of God directed by Rogers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the McColl Church of God one hour prior to the memorial service.
