Judy Black

KINGS MOUNTAIN: Judy Bailey Black, 72, died Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Atrium Health Cleveland. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Martha Carroll Bailey. In addition to her parents, she was the preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Coy Black; and sister, Faye Belk. She is survived by her son, Samuel Black of Kings Mountain; daughters, Michelle Burkhart and husband Kevin of Shelby, Sarah Watts and fiancé Shane Derreberry of Kings Mountain, Martha Black and fiancé David Scruggs of Kings Mountain and Chris Black and fiancé Richard Titus of Blacksburg; sisters, Louise Gardner of Cherryville and Joyce Hawkins and husband Chip of Forest City; grandchildren, Dustin Black, Wesley Black, Chelsie Hunt, Lisa Burkhart, Miranda Pugh, Andrew Watts, Jessica Watts, Little Coy Black, Megan Allen, Kelsie Allen, Zora Black, Jada Allen, Sabrina Burton and Alandria Scruggs; and 15 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 1:30-2:30pm, Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home in Kings Mountain. A graveside service will follow in Mountain Rest Cemetery at 3:00pm.
