KINGS MOUNTAIN: In the grand tapestry of life, some threads shine a little brighter, weave a little wittier, and dance with colors that make the rest stand out. Julie Seagraves Hope, affectionately known to her grandchildren as Nana and to her many nieces and nephews as Aunt Julie, was exactly that kind of thread.
Born on October 26, 1965, in Gaston County, Julie graced this world with her presence for a vibrant 59 years before setting off on her next adventure from Asheville on March 24, 2025.
Julie had a gift for making memories out of moments, whether it was schooling everyone in a rousing game of Rummy or creating cozy masterpieces with her crochet hook, she turned ordinary days into cherished ones. Her love for soap operas was legendary, rivaled only by her passion for watching movies and devouring episodes of *North & South* and *Gray's Anatomy* with the same dedication others might reserve for marathon runners or detectives on a hot case.
Her musical taste was nothing short of epic, resonating to the tunes of Boston, Journey, and Bon Jovi. She believed in living life in high harmony and never hesitated to hit the high notes when opportunity struck—or when the radio was on.
Julie is survived by a loving crew who will carry on her legacy of laughter, card-playing prowess, and star-quality storytelling. Her sons, Jack Hope III and his wife Ashley of Kings Mountain, Daniel Hope of Kings Mountain, and Casey Hope and his wife Amber of Texas, all inherited her zest for life, much to her delight. Her sister, Tina Stein, and husband Mike, along with brothers Larry Seagraves Jr. and Cory Seagraves and his wife Samantha, knew her as not just a sister but an unbeatable ally in both mischief and heart.
She was the cherished Nana to Kallie Hope, Emma Hope, Luke Hope, Ella Walker, Devin Hope, and Faith Hope, leaving behind more incredible stories than any bedtime could contain. An array of nieces and nephews will forever remember her as their dear Aunt Julie, who always had an ear ready to listen and advice (or a high five) at the ready.
Though she's shuffled off this mortal coil, Julie's indomitable spirit and infectious laughter will echo on, a testament to a life well-lived and loved.
