Julius "Hopey" Fraser

April 2, 1918 — February 5, 2011

SHELBY- Mr. Julius Hoyt “Hopey” Fraser, 92, of 1620 Burke Rd., died Sat., Feb., 5th 2011 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. A native of Gwinette County, GA, he was the son of the late E.S. and Odessa Deaton Fraser. Hopey served in the Army during WWII where he received the Bronze Star. He retired after 30 years of employment with Duke Energy. Hopey was a member of Sandy Run Baptist Church, an avid golfer, farmer, walker and loved to chop firewood.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Helen Walker Fraser.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his three sons, Robert “Bob” Fraser and wife Teresa of Mooresboro, Bobby “Bud” Fraser of Grover, and Tony Fraser and wife Leanna of Shelby; daughter Lynda Fraser of Ellenboro; sister Audrey Gantt of Forrest City; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren


SERVICES: 11a.m. Tuesday at Sandy Run Baptist Church

VISITATION: One hour prior to the service

CLERGY: Rev. Andy Oliver

BURIAL: Cleveland Memorial Park
