SHELBY – Mr. George “Junior” Perry Champion Jr., 71, of Smith St., died Wed. June 19, 2013 at White Oak Manor in Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late George Perry Champion Sr. and Daisy Emery Champion.
PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Packard Champion; three sisters, Marie Champion, Mary C. Robbins, and Willie Mae Tessneer.
SURVIVED: He is survived by his wife, Kathy Champion, of the home; three sisters, Sally Thomas of Hickory, Peggy Vess of Grover, Rosemary Lancaster of Boiling Springs; and a brother, Ralph Champion of Kings Mountain. The family would like to thank the staff of White Oak Manor and Cleveland Regional Medical Center for all their love and care they extended to Junior.
SERVICES: 11AM, Saturday, Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel
VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home, and other times at the home of his sister, Peggy Vess, 2520 Brookfield Dr., Shelby
