SHELBY- Mrs. Jurell Bryant Blanton, 80, of 125 Canipe Rd., Cherryville, formerly of 5032 Pecan Dr., Shelby, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Ellis Ernest and Virginia Sailors Bryant. Mrs. Blanton was retired from the Ora Mill. She was a member of Charity Baptist Church and was a former member Putnam Memorial Baptist Church.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Quinton Blanton and a brother, T.W. Bryant.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by three sons, James Wayne Blanton and wife, Linda, of Lattimore, Earnest Carroll Blanton and wife, Brenda, of Shelby and Michael Victor Blanton and wife, Debbie, of Lawndale; two daughters, Brenda Rhyne and husband, Buddy, of Cherryville and Renee Wright and husband, Ted, of Ellenboro; two sisters, Marell McClure of Shelby and Barbara Phillips of Ellenboro; a brother, Royce Bryant and wife, Ruth, of Shelby; eleven grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 11, 2007 from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be Friday, January 12, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Charity Baptist Church.
LIE-IN-STATE: The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
BURIAL: Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
