Kathleen Mcswain

April 18, 1918 — November 20, 2015

SHELBY- Kathleen Black McSwain, 97, died Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Fannie Odom Black. She was a member of Davidson Memorial Baptist Church.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence McSwain; brothers, James, Russell, Johnny, and Paul Black; sisters, Katie, Pauline, Eva, and Luna Black Ervin.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her daughters, Peggy McSwain Peace and husband Michel, and Gail McSwain Poston and husband Roger; sister, Dorothy Black Ervin, all of Shelby; grandchildren, Tabitha Peace, Rodney Poston and wife Stephanie, Gerry Poston and wife Heather, and Janet Poston Hamrick and husband Joey; great-grandchildren, Nicole Poston Walker and husband Justin, Colby, Eymilyn, Ransome, and Jordan Poston


FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 2p.m., Monday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Sunday, 5-6:30pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home

BURIAL: Will follow in Sunset Cemetery

CLERGY: Rev. Tim Trexler
