EARL: Keith Norman, 69, died Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at his home. A native of McDowell County, he was the son of the late Thomas “Roan” and Dorothy “Dot” Norman. Keith loved to share about Jesus and his boys. He always had a strong and positive attitude and enjoyed telling stories. He owned and operated Norman Sign Co. where he was known for his hand lettering. Later, he worked in the Cleveland County Jail and Control room. He also volunteered at the prison, as a chaplain, prior to its closing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Aleta Nestlerode. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Patti Ellis Norman of the home; sons, Clay Norman and wife Jessica of Earl and Brady Norman of Shelby; grandchildren, Kaleb, Maycie and Marlie Norman; sister-in-law, Brenda Dunlevy and husband Paul; brothers -in-law, Joe Ellis and Bruce Nestlerode; nieces, Lizbeth Davis, Destiny Champion and Heather Dunleavy; nephew, Shane Dunlevy; and special cousin, Kenneth Gaddy and wife Jackie. The family will receive friends 6:00-7:30 P.M. Monday, February26, 2024 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Patterson Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Waters officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and Aquamation Center.
