Kenneth Kies

KINGS MOUNTAIN: Kenneth “Plute” Kies Sr., 81, died Friday, July 24, 2020, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Champaign, OH, he was the son of the late Ernest and Evelyn Magato Kies. He retired from the Copeland Shelby Plant in 1987, and had a love for fishing, camping and golfing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Chuck Kies. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Janet Brecount Kies; sons, Ken Kies Jr. and wife Barbara of Kings Mountain and Brooks Kies and wife Peggy of Gaffney; sister, Dora McFarland and husband Mac of OH; grandchildren, Jennifer Hamm, Justin Kies, Randy Kies, Andy Kies, Laura Powell and Brian Kies; and 8 great grandchildren.
