Larry Vassey

SHELBY – Mr. Larry Franklin Vassey, 63, of Polkville Rd, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Catawba County he is the son to the late Haskell Thurman and Mildred Canipe Vassey and retired from Burlington Industries.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by infant brother Richard Vassey and half brother Herman Hoyt Vassey.


SURVIVORS: He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sylvia Vassey, of the home; son Joe Vassey; daughter Sheree Vassey; sister Frances Wright, all of Shelby; two brothers Thurman Vassey and wife Dorothy of Earl, and Yates Vassey of Maiden, one granddaughter Reese Rae Vassey of Shelby, and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you would like to be given to the staff of ICU at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.

VISITATION: Mr. Vassey will be available for viewing, Friday, December 26, 2-3pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home
FUNERAL: Services will be held, Friday, December 26, 3pm in the Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
INTERMENT: Burial will immediately follow in Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery.
CLERGY: Dr. B. Ervin Price will be officiating
