Larry Wright Sr.

SHELBY- Larry Wright Sr., 78, died Monday, July 30, 2018, at White Oak Manor in Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Wray and O.V. Ledford Wright. Larry retired from Duke Energy and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. As an avid hot rod enthusiast, he is a member of the Spartanburg Dragway Wall of Fame, and a former announcer of the year, and an announcer at Shuffletown, Shadyside, and Greer Dragway,

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Martha Howell Wright

SURVIVED: He is survived by his son, David Wright Jr. and wife Julie of Lincolnton; daughter, Kellie Putnam and husband Rob of Kings Mountain; brother, Dale Wright and wife Linda of Fallston: grandchildren, Lyndsie Jarvis, Josh Shelton, Hillary Burcham, Jordan Shelton, and Marti Wright; step-grandchildren, Jesse Putnam and Stephanie Putnam; and 6 great-grandchildren.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends 6-7:30pm, Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and other time at the home of his daughter, Kellie Putnam, 109 S. Goforth St., Kings Mountain.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 3pm, Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
