MOORESBORO- Mrs. Laura Jean Allen, 67, of 110 Ira Lane, died Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center. She was a native of Cleveland County, daughter to the late Boyd and Laura Jane Spake Camp. She was a former employee of Esther Mill and L&J Manufacturing Co. in Mooresboro, which she and her husband opened. Mrs. Allen was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bud” Allen; a twin sister, Joann Daves; sisters, Edna Fortenberry and Ruby Ross; and brothers J.T., Bill and Joe Camp.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Allen of Mooresboro; two sisters, Raye Clark and husband Aubrey and Rachel Jolley and husband William all of Shelby; four brothers, Hoyle Camp and wife Katherine of Rocky Mount, Jack Camp and wife Barbara, of Shelby, John Camp and wife Earleen of Kings Mountain, and Hugh Camp and wife Carolyn of Shelby; a granddaughter, Nicole Jones and husband Tim of Shelby; three great-grandchildren, Dustin, Destiny, and Carter Jones; a sister-in-law, Barbara Sue Fowler and husband Charles of Shelby; and a special friend, Missy Brittain and husband, Shane of Shelby.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home of Nicole and Tim Jones, 747-3 Ed Hamrick Rd., Shelby.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 30, 2007 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery.
