Bessemer City- Laverne Foster, 63 of Bessemer City, passed away Friday October 31, 2014 at her home. A native of Cleveland county she was born January 16, 1951, daughter of the late Amzi and Estelle McCraw McNeely. She was a member of Lighthouse Ministries and a supervisor at Pharr Yarns. She was a loving mother, grand and great grandmother.
PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Foster; two sisters, Elaine Williams and Katherine McNeely.
SURVIVED: She is survived by three sons, Shane Helms and wife Wendy of Mt. Holly, Bobby Foster and wife Kara, and Jimmy Foster and wife Trish, both of Andrews NC; one daughter, Dustie Janney and her husband Jason of the home; one brother, Rev. Don McNeely and wife Judy of Bessemer City; grandchildren, Little Joe Gladden and wife Amber, Kelse, Kaele, and Kilee Ann Helms, Jessice, Samatha, Josh, Jamie, and Chris Foster; one great grandchild, Carter Rush Arrowood; two sisters-in-law , Barbara Foster and Trina Foster Whitaker, she and her sisters-in-law looked to one another as sisters. They loved her very much; she was a wonderful lady, sister, and friend. She will be missed dearly; we will see you on the other side, Sis!
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held Tuesday, 2pm in the chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Kings Mountain.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Monday night, 6-8:30 pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Kings Mountain.
CLERGY: Rev. Don McNeely and Rev. Bruce Davis will officiate.
BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Westview Gardens in Bessemer City
