Lawrence Pinkey Mcswain

August 13, 1915 — March 12, 2010

SHELBY- Mr. Lawrence Pinkney McSwain, 94, of 444 Community Road, died Friday, March 12, 2010 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late George G. and Tillie Webb McSwain. Mr. McSwain was a member of Davidson Memorial Baptist Church. He served in the US Army and enjoyed Fishing, Singing, and Woodworking.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, 4 sisters, Mamie Lee Etta McSwain Hembree, Beaufy McSwain Puckett, Alda McSawin Patterson Fisher, and Novella McSwain Smart; and 4 brothers, Henderson, Odis, Arlon, and Frank McSwain.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his wife Kathleen Black Mcswain of the Home, two daughters Peggy McSwain Peace and husband Michel, and Gail McSwain Poston and husband Roger, all of Shelby, four grandchildren, Tabitha Peace, Rodney Poston, Gerry Poston, and Janet Poston Hamrick; three great grandchildren; and two adopted great grandchildren.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Sunday, March 14, 6-7:30, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

SERVICES: Services will be held, 3pm, at Davidson Memorial Baptist Church, Monday, March 15.

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Sunset Cemetery.

OFFICIAIING: Dr. Bobby Ridge and Rev. Tim Trexler will be officiating.

FUNERAL HOME: Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby.
