SHELBY- Mr. LeRoy “Buddy” Ledford, 97, died Friday, September 8, 2006 at Century Care of Cherryville.
FUNERAL: A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, 2006 at Sunset Cemetery.
BURIAL: Sunset Cemetery with Masonic Funeral Rites.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
PERSONAL HISTORY: A native of Cleveland County, he was retired from Porter Brothers and was a member of First Baptist Church of Shelby. He was a Shriner, Past Master (1954), and member of Cleveland Lodge No. 202 A.F. & A.M. and was the oldest living Certified Lecturer in North Carolina.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: He was preceded in death by his wife, Aileen K. Ledford, his brother, Pinkney Ledford and sisters Evie Lail and Ethel Bridges.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by a son and his wife, Buster and Barbara M. Ledford of Mooresville; a daughter and her husband, Annie Lee and Bob Williams of Charlotte; three sisters, Mary Margaret Sain and husband, Blain, Hettie Faulkner and Minnie Bridges, all of Shelby; two grandchildren, three great grandchildren and brother-in-law, Jim Kendrick and wife, Mae, of Shelby. The family would like to thank the staff of Century Care of Cherryville, Hospice of Gaston County and special friend Jackie Millsaps.
